Thanks to my friend Michael Gibbons at Buttons for Hope http://www.buttonsofhope.com for sharing some additional charity walks for this list. Do you have a favorite national/international charity walk that is not on the list? Please post a comment and let me know.
Hi Roger
I didn’t see the Promise Walk organization on here… which the Oklahoma City Promise Walk for Preeclampsia is one of the national walks which will be happening on 11 May 2013. How do I get them added?
Laura
Hi Laura,
Sorry about that. I have now added the Promise Walk to the list. If you would like to promote your Oklahoma City Promise Walk for Preeclampsia on this website, send me a proposed blog post and I will promote it that way. If you are doing something unique to raise attendance, funds or awareness, be sure to highlight it in the post. Something like your mini “men in heels” race (hint, hint). Thanks.
Roger

Congenital Heart Walk – The Children’s Heart Foundation has partnered with the Adult Congenital Heart Association to walk for awareness and to raise money to fund research for Congenital Heart Defects, the number one birth defect in America! The first walk was held on the campus of George Mason University, on September 12, 2010. http://congenitalheartwalk.org/
Lisa,
I am excited the your number of charity walks has grown. I have added the Congenital Heart Walk to the list and wish you well in the future.

Please add Purple Stride’s walk/run for Pancreatic Cancer Action Network to your list! This is such an important cause that has too few survivors and not enough research. Thank you!
Julie – The PurpleStride is a great fundraising walk/run to add to the list. It is now included in the cancer walks section. Thanks!
