Hi, I’m Roger Carr. You have just discovered one of my blogs where I am making a difference and encouraging others to make a difference as well.

A few years ago I searched and discovered my life purpose. Many wonderful things happened since then as I deliberately set out to “help people help others.”

I am now a writer and speaker on the subject of making a difference. Thousands of people have read my articles. Many readers have responded that they are now giving back in new ways due to the encouragement I provided. Isn’t that exciting?

One of the first things I set out to do was to learn about fundraising. I contacted a nonprofit organization that was supporting a cause important to me. Within two days, I had a leadership role on the planning committee for a local charity walk. In less than a year I was the chairperson.

I have been able to perform in several roles in support of charity walks, experiencing things that worked well (and some that didn’t). I have also seen the power of charity walks. They are much more valuable than just the money they raise.

My desire is that you will learn from my experiences and research as you follow this blog. I would also like to hear about your experiences. Just leave comments on the blog for everyone to learn from or send me an email.

Thanks,

Roger-Carr-Signature

p.s. The charity I contacted was the Arthritis Foundation. Since the day I contacted them to learn about fundraising, I have had the opportunity to do much more than work on charity walks. I have participated as a volunteer in additional events, became a board member of the Virginia Chapter, was an advocate on Capitol Hill, and was an adviser with the national office on the Let’s Move Together campaign.
