Providing tips and resources for charity walks

jingle bell run/walk costume

It is fun seeing all of the different costumes runners and walkers wear at the Richmond Jingle Bell Run/Walk

It was early in the morning.

It was cold.

It was a lot of fun.

On Saturday, the Arthritis Foundation Jingle Bell Run/Walk was held in Richmond, Virginia. It was one of several Jingle Bell Run/Walks taking place across the nation during the holiday season to help in the fight against arthritis.  One of the highlights of the event each year is to see the costumes people wear.

When I am asked about how to distinguish a charity walk from others, creating a theme for the event is one of the answers I give.  The Arthritis Foundation Jingle Bell Run/Walk is an excellent example.  A significant amount of joy comes just from seeing the costumes participants are wearing to the event.  It adds an element of fun that most charity walks do not experience.

Enjoy the photos below that were captured at the charity event.  To learn more about the Jingle Bell Run/Walk, go to http://www.arthritis.org/jingle-bell-run.php.

  3. Having just been at one of the most lackluster and painful charity events I’ve ever attended last weekend, it is a joy to see people having fun. Charity events should be joyous, rewarding, engaging, fun… at least one of the above.
    Thanks for the smiles.

      Gayle,
I am sorry you had to experience a charity event that was a disappointment. Having fun is a major factor in a charity event being successful and people looking forward to return for the next event.

Congrats on a fabulous event Roger! I wish more nonprofits understood the importance of making their special event fun and different from all the others out there.
